Due Diligence Specialist – Periodic Review

About the role

As a Periodic Review Due Diligence Specialist you will protect Checkout.com by ensuring merchant files stay compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will perform AML periodic and event‑driven reviews, verify ownership structures, business activities and transaction profiles, and uphold the highest regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess whether each merchant’s risk rating and due‑diligence level remain appropriate based on current information.
• Complete review actions in internal systems, including Salesforce, and maintain accurate case statuses, notes and evidence.
• Manage periodic review cases from assignment through closure, raising Requests for Information (RFIs) when needed.
• Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high‑risk entities and provide clear rationales for decisions.
• Escalate cases that trigger policy or risk indicators to secondary review or approval.
• Produce audit‑ready commentary and documentation supporting all decisions.
• Immediately report unusual or suspicious activity in line with internal reporting obligations.
• Contribute to consistent decision‑making and knowledge sharing across the periodic review team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of AML, KYC and risk‑based due diligence processes.
• Ability to work with precision, maintain detailed records and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with merchants, account managers and internal stakeholders.
