In-House Lawyer – Legal SBU

About the role

Join the Legal SBU of MCB, the in‑house legal department serving the bank’s business units and the wider MCB Group. As an In‑House Lawyer you will act as a trusted business partner, delivering pragmatic legal solutions that support commercial objectives while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear, implementation‑focused legal advice on a broad range of banking and finance matters.
• Support transactional, advisory and strategic initiatives across multiple business lines.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents for MCB and its group entities.
• Advise on products, services and commercial offerings, assessing legal and regulatory implications.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
• Identify, assess and escalate legal and regulatory risks, recommending mitigation measures.
• Manage relationships with local and international external counsel, controlling legal spend.
• Contribute to the development and standardisation of legal frameworks, documentation and best practices.

Required profile

• Law degree or LLM specialised in banking & finance, corporate law or private equity.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in banking/financial services legal environments, either in law firms or corporate legal departments.
• Demonstrated ability to learn through experimentation, act with integrity and deliver results under pressure.
• Strong written communication tailored to the intended audience.
