Indirect Procurement Buyer

About the role

The Indirect Procurement Buyer is responsible for executing day‑to‑day purchasing activities across a range of indirect spend categories, including IT software, IT hardware, HR, contingent labor, and finance. The role works closely with category managers, finance, and business stakeholders to ensure compliant, timely, and accurate procurement throughout the full Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a high‑volume queue of purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders in line with category plans and guided‑buying policies.
• Issue, track, and close purchase orders, handling order confirmation, expediting, invoice resolution, and PO close‑out.
• Monitor open PO status, communicate delays, and proactively resolve discrepancies.
• Support category managers by executing purchases against preferred supplier lists and maintaining up‑to‑date supplier catalogues in the e‑Procurement system.
• Ensure all transactions comply with delegation of authority, legal‑entity requirements, cost‑coding standards, and internal procurement policies.
• Validate and apply correct legal entities, cost centres, project codes, and accounting codes on all requisitions and purchase orders.
• Act as the primary procurement contact for assigned stakeholders, providing clear updates on order status and timelines.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with strong prioritisation and the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the capacity to communicate clearly with internal partners and suppliers.
• Experience in indirect procurement, category management support, and end‑to‑end P2P processes.
• Ability to ensure compliance with financial controls and audit requirements.
