Investment Analyst – Impact Finance (Africa)

About the role

Moringaway is seeking a collaborative and commercially‑minded Investment Analyst to originate, analyse and monitor corporate lending opportunities within the African impact‑finance sector. Based in Ebene with occasional remote work, the role involves full‑cycle loan processing, from origination through execution to ongoing portfolio management, and includes regular travel across key African markets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse prospective corporate loan opportunities, reviewing financial statements, cash‑flow forecasts, business models and debt‑service capacity.
• Prepare detailed client assessment reports and financial models, assessing risk profiles, collateral structures and covenant compliance.
• Conduct compliance and Know‑Your‑Customer (KYC) reviews for prospective clients.
• Lead financial, operational, legal and ESG due‑diligence processes, coordinating information requests and site visits.
• Support the closing of new debt deals, managing documentation and representing the organisation with clients and partners.
• Monitor existing loan portfolio performance, assist with reporting, risk reviews and investment committee updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in corporate lending, investment analysis or impact‑finance.
• Willingness to travel regularly across African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Tanzania.
