Laundry Manager (Shipboard)

About the role

The Laundry Manager oversees the daily operation of the shipboard laundry facility, ensuring that all linen, uniforms and guest items are cleaned, pressed and delivered to the appropriate areas on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the sorting, washing, ironing, dry‑cleaning and storage of all laundry items.
• Maintain equipment functionality, conduct daily dryer inspections and coordinate repairs with the Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer.
• Coordinate with all ship divisions to ensure proper linen sorting, timely distribution to cabins, F&B areas, spa, pool and cruise‑theater costumes.
• Prepare and submit daily equipment inspection reports.
• Manage chemical and non‑chemical supply requisitions within budget guidelines.
• Set washing formulas and cycles, working with the Ecolab representative to calibrate machines.
• Ensure work areas and equipment remain clean, sanitized and organized.
• Liaise with senior deck supervisors for top‑suite item returns and resolve any laundry‑related guest issues.

Required profile

• Technical proficiency with laundry machinery and cleaning chemicals.
• Strong judgment for assessing methods, procedures and corrective actions.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for guest‑related laundry concerns.
• Effective coordination with housekeeping, engineering and cruise‑division teams.
