Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper is a senior member of the shipboard management team, responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction across the vessel.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain brand‑standard cleanliness and presentation in guest staterooms, balconies, corridors, officer cabins, laundry, lockers and storage areas.
• Report to the Hotel Director and collaborate with other hotel division heads on cleanliness standards and operational initiatives.
• Lead, motivate and coach a diverse housekeeping team, handling guest feedback and service requests efficiently.
• Design and deliver classroom‑style and on‑the‑job training programs for staff development and succession planning.
• Coordinate the division schedule with shoreside support, monitor staffing needs and adjust resources as required.
• Oversee laundry operations, ensuring the Laundry Master has the tools, training and support needed for flawless service delivery.
• Manage yearly budgets for housekeeping and laundry cost centres, tracking consumables, revenue streams and expense control.
• Drive performance against quantitative and qualitative targets such as guest satisfaction scores, quality reviews, health inspections and operational audits.

Required profile

• Professional and courteous demeanor aligned with Royal Caribbean’s “Anchored in Excellence” philosophy.
• Proven leadership experience in a large‑scale hospitality or cruise‑ship environment.
• Strong budgeting and financial management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills for training, meetings and cross‑department collaboration.
• Ability to adapt quickly to shipboard events, special functions and changing guest needs.
