Manager – Closed End Funds

About the role

Apex Group is seeking an experienced Manager to lead a team responsible for the end‑to‑end administration of closed‑end funds. The role combines operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and client interaction across the fund lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team on all projects, assignments and ad‑hoc tasks related to fund administration.
• Manage operational aspects of unit deliverables, ensuring high‑quality service and efficient resource allocation.
• Review and monitor work performed by unit members, approve timesheets and balance staff capacity.
• Provide regular operational updates to senior management and identify training needs.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks, escalating issues as required.
• Ensure compliance with Mauritius Companies Act, Financial Services Act, Code of Corporate Governance, Data Protection Act, Securities Act and other relevant regulations.
• Oversee licensing, regulatory filings and closing procedures for closed‑end funds.
• Manage fund activities at all stages – formation, investment, operational phase, exit and closure.
• Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) in line with AML requirements and maintain updated records.
• Participate in client meetings, both internal and external, as needed.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in fund administration or a related financial services area.
• Strong understanding of Mauritius regulatory framework and compliance requirements.
• Risk‑focused mindset with the ability to proactively identify and address operational risks.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to senior management and interacting with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑growing environment.
