Accountant 1 - Accounts Payable

About the role

International Card Processing Services Ltd (ICPS), a subsidiary of HPS Group, is hiring an Accountant 1 to manage and execute the organization's accounts payable (AP) functions. The role covers processing invoices, reconciling statements and ensuring timely payments to vendors, while keeping accurate financial records and optimising cash flow. It sits within the finance department and reports to the Accounting Manager and Financial & Administrative Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and process vendor invoices, matching them to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies
• Enter invoice data into the accounting system and prepare and process electronic payments and cheques
• Monitor payment schedules to avoid late fees and handle payment inquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders
• Oversee the daily cash position and bank reconciliation, and carry out periodic asset inventory
• Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments and correspondence, and support internal and external audits
• Identify improvements to AP processes, use AP automation tools and stay up to date on industry trends

Required profile

• Higher School Certificate with good grades in Accounting and Mathematics
• At least ACCA Level 1 (Level 2 preferred)
• 2-3 years of experience in AR, AP or general accounting
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP management
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and pivot tables
• Familiarity with AP automation tools and electronic payment platforms
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, organisation and time management
