Accounting & Tax Assistant

About the role

The Accounting & Tax Assistant will join TMF Group's accounting division, supporting international clients as they establish and grow their operations in France. Working under the supervision of senior staff, you will contribute to day‑to‑day accounting, tax compliance and financial reporting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and verify accounting information from clients.
• Make basic journal entries and perform reconciliations for accounts payable, accounts receivable, banks, employee expenses and payroll.
• Prepare French tax returns, including VAT and other statutory filings.
• Assist senior colleagues with client reports, cut‑off procedures, tax declarations and annual financial statements.
• Report progress to supervisors and ensure timely submission of work for review.
• Support internal projects such as automation, continuous improvement initiatives and training sessions.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar accounting or tax role.
• Strong command of English and French (B2‑C1 level).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of French GAAP is a plus.
• Energetic, well‑organized, meticulous and able to handle confidential information.
