Accounts Officer

About the role

The Accounts Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial and accounting operations for STM Consulting Ltd and its affiliated entities across Africa, using ZOHO Books as the primary accounting platform. Reporting to the Regional Head of Finance and Administration, the role covers accounts payable and receivable, vendor bill processing, bank and vendor reconciliations, and multi‑currency record‑keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts, supporting schedules, and audit‑ready documentation within ZOHO Books.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and support cash‑management activities.
• Assist with cross‑border accounting, ensuring entries comply with jurisdiction‑specific regulations.
• Support regulatory filings, audits, statutory reporting, and internal control compliance.
• Prepare supporting schedules and working papers for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with payroll data processing and related statutory returns across relevant jurisdictions.
• Provide general administrative support to the Finance and Administration department, including procurement and vendor documentation.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work under deadlines.
• Experience handling multi‑currency transactions and cross‑border payments.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance and audit processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ZOHO Books accounting software.
