Analyst I, Transaction Monitoring and Screening

About the role

As an Analyst I in Transaction Monitoring and Screening, you will help protect Checkout.com and its merchants from money‑laundering and fraud risks. You’ll work closely with internal teams to review alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and ensure compliance with AML regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor merchant transactions and identify anomalous behaviour in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Investigate alerts generated by the rule‑based transaction monitoring system, reviewing transaction details, customer information and supporting documentation.
• Conduct deep‑dive research using internal tools, open‑source intelligence (OSINT) and third‑party databases.
• Perform background checks on merchants and assess their business risk.
• Maintain accurate records in Checkout.com’s customer database and follow sanctions‑screening, alert‑management and reporting procedures.
• Draft suspicious activity reports in line with regulatory expectations.
• Suggest process improvements and innovative ideas to enhance AML compliance operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 1‑3 years of experience in AML monitoring, compliance or related financial‑crime roles.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work quickly under pressure and communicate findings clearly.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AML requirements and due‑diligence procedures.
• Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems and sanctions‑screening processes.
• Experience using OSINT techniques and third‑party data sources for investigations.
