Assistant Accountant - Finance

About the role

Ocorian, a fund services, corporate, capital markets, private client and regulatory and compliance firm, is hiring an Assistant Accountant for its Global Accounting team. The role supports finance operations across a growing number of international jurisdictions, giving hands-on experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, month-end activities and financial reporting. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting activities across designated international jurisdictions.
• Process supplier invoices, employee expenses and other transactions, and apply payments to invoices.
• Prepare and post payment and periodic journal entries.
• Perform supplier statement and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Contribute to month-end accounting and prepare simple accounts and financial summaries.
• Support tax, VAT and statutory payment activities across relevant entities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external auditors on local and Group audit activities.
• Contribute to finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience or practical exposure in finance, accounting or a related environment, with a good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Ability to prepare accounting information, reconciliations and financial summaries, with an interest in tax and VAT processes.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and communication skills, and willingness to learn in a global finance environment.
