Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to support the Finance team at Constance Prince Maurice, a luxury resort in Mauritius. This permanent, onsite position offers the chance to develop financial expertise within a high‑end hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Controller in daily finance operations, including preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor budgets, operating expenses, revenue, and financial performance against targets.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries and ensure accurate accounting records.
• Analyse hotel costs such as food & beverage, payroll, inventory and operating supplies.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial projections.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain supporting documentation.
• Monitor cash flow, banking transactions and cash‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage.
• Previous accounting or finance experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and internal controls.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
