Audit Assistant

About the role

The Audit Assistant supports audit and assurance engagements for a range of clients, working closely with senior team members to deliver high-quality services. It is a full-time, on-site position based in Port Louis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and performing audits of standalone and consolidated financial statements
• Execute test procedures, document findings and help prepare working papers and audit reports
• Contribute to compliance and assurance reviews, and support agreed-upon procedures and limited reviews
• Assist in data analysis and risk assessment
• Gather information with colleagues and clients, maintain accurate records and follow professional standards and firm methodologies

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; progress toward a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA) is an advantage
• Previous internship or entry-level experience in audit, assurance or accounting is beneficial
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and effective written and verbal communication
• Organized, able to manage several assignments and meet deadlines, committed to integrity, ethics and confidentiality

Required skills

• Accounting and auditing principles, including familiarity with IFRS
• Financial analysis and working papers preparation
• Use of spreadsheets and audit software
