Back Office Support - Card Clearing & Settlement

About the role

ICPS is looking for a back office support person to handle card clearing and settlement work for its clients. The role covers processing settlement files, reconciling accounts, handling chargebacks and fraud monitoring, and supporting end-of-month client meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Process the clearing of incoming and outgoing settlement files for the various card associations serving the clients.
• Evaluate the net foreign currency positions to be converted into the reporting currency according to set procedures.
• Investigate and resolve rejected transactions and take remedial action on unsuccessful ones.
• Reconcile General Ledger, Intermediary and Profit and Loss accounts on time and justify closing balances.
• Highlight corrective actions needed on intermediary accounts to the Clearing & Settlement team and escalate long outstanding items.
• Take part in end-of-month meetings with clients.
• Process chargebacks, representments, good faith, fee collections and other refunds on time.
• Update the chargeback log regularly, run fraud monitoring and pass alerts to clients.
• Follow network bulletins, liaise with the Enhancement team and clients, and handle customer complaints and queries efficiently.
• Prepare process flows, take part in projects and use the Card Management system and other back office tools.

Required profile

• Partly ACCA qualified or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years' proven experience in banking and finance.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practice is an advantage.
• Self-starter with strong planning, organising and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

• Conversant with Microsoft Excel (basic).
