Butler – Luxury Guest Relations (Mauritius)

About the role

The Butler is responsible for delivering a seamless, premium in‑suite experience for guests aboard the ship in Mauritius. As a key member of the Guest Relations team, the Butler acts as the main liaison between guests and all hotel and marine departments, anticipating needs and ensuring memorable service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the appearance, cleanliness and inventory of assigned suites.
• Provide guests with detailed information on suite amenities, ship offerings, ports of call and Retreat privileges.
• Serve as the personal point of contact for guests, coordinating inter‑departmental communication.
• Taste‑test and inspect all food, beverage and service items before guest consumption.
• Champion service excellence and continuously raise standards for the Retreat program.
• Share guest preferences with other Retreat areas to personalize the overall experience.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of guest‑facing service experience in a luxury environment.
• Fluent, clear and courteous spoken English.
• Well‑groomed, confident appearance with a warm demeanor.
• Strong emotional intelligence and resourceful problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to read and write English to follow procedures and communicate effectively.
