Chef De Partie – Luxury Hotel Kitchen

About the role

The Chef de Partie will work in the kitchen of Constance Le Chaland, a luxury hotel on Mauritius' south‑eastern coast. The role involves preparing dishes to exact standards, maintaining hygiene, and supporting the senior chefs in a high‑end hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with breakfast M.E.P., ensure proper clearing, storage and sanitation of leftovers.
• Prepare food according to orders from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef and produce dishes that match recipes, photos and set standards.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area, including covering dishes before cold storage and cleaning equipment at the end of each shift.
• Train subordinate staff on daily duties and support other kitchen departments when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and a qualification from a culinary school.
• Minimum 2 years hotel industry experience, with at least 1 year in a similar position.
• Fluency in English (additional language a plus) and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficient use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices and ability to report/rectify safety hazards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, multitask and manage time effectively.
