Chief People Officer

About the role

The Chief People Officer will lead the people strategy, aligning talent and culture with business objectives and creating an environment where team members grow, excel and thrive. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role oversees People & Culture, Health & Safety and Facilities functions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner, providing people solutions for the business.
• Assist the leadership team on all HR and Industrial Relations matters.
• Lead the People & Culture, Health & Safety and Facilities teams.
• Drive effective talent acquisition and talent management practices.
• Enhance employee engagement and curate the employee experience.
• Coach and develop employees towards a performance‑oriented culture.
• Build, promote and sustain a clear and compelling Employer Brand.
• Implement key HR policies and practices in line with ER Group standards.

Required profile

• Postgraduate qualification in Management, HR or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience at senior management level in human resources.
• Sound knowledge of Labour laws and Industrial Relations in Mauritius.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Proven track record in organisation development and culture building.
• High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to act as a coach.
• Digitally savvy, with experience of leveraging HR technology and AI.
