Commis (Kitchen Assistant) – Hospitality Team

About the role

The Commis will support the kitchen team at C Mauritius by preparing meals, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This is an energetic, hands‑on position ideal for someone who loves hospitality and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Check daily meals and set up the kitchen for service.
• Perform all necessary mise en place (MEP) tasks.
• Label and laminate products with production dates and store them correctly.
• Cook meals under the supervision of the senior chef.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, cleaning equipment after use.
• Hand over duties to the next shift with proper documentation.
• Prepare and set up food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Train, assist, and coach trainees as needed.
• Report any safety or hygiene concerns immediately.
• Promote energy‑efficient and environmentally friendly practices.

Required profile

• National Certificate Level 3 in a relevant field.
• Fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.
• Team player with a flexible approach to work.
