Commis Sommelier

About the role

The Commis Sommelier supports the wine service at One&Only Le Saint Géran, preparing the wine station, assisting guests, and ensuring a seamless, high‑quality experience in a luxury resort setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare service materials: wipe glasses, set up wine stands, and ventilate glasses on tables.
• Assist during service by advising guests, providing courteous and attentive service, and identifying up‑selling opportunities.
• Communicate any service issues promptly to the Head Sommelier.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all wine service equipment after service.
• Continuously seek opportunities to expand wine knowledge and share passion with guests and team members.

• Passionate about wine and eager to transmit that enthusiasm.
• Team‑oriented with a strong desire to learn and improve.
• Professional demeanor: smiling, courteous, and attentive to guest needs.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, luxury hospitality environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of wine regions and vineyard geography.
• Familiarity with grape varieties.
• Basic wine tasting skills.
