Excel Specialist – Remote Data Operations

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations. Working remotely, you will collaborate with finance, marketing, and operational teams across Africa to transform raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain complex, scalable Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction, and report generation.
• Clean, validate, and merge large datasets from multiple sources using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Develop dynamic forecasting, budgeting, and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit and troubleshoot existing Excel files to resolve formula errors and data mapping issues.
• Translate technical data insights into visual formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on reporting templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management, or financial modeling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines across African time zones.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query.
• VBA macro development and custom scripting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI.
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases and data‑visualisation principles.
