French‑Speaking Finance Manager – Africa

About the role

The Finance Manager will support Operations Managers across French‑speaking African markets, working under the guidance of Financial Controllers in London. The role is responsible for the administrative, financial and risk management of each operation, developing and executing financial strategies, monitoring key metrics and maintaining robust control systems to protect company assets and deliver accurate results.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Finance Department and partner with the CEO, Group CFO and London Controllers to create financial plans, budgets and long‑term funding strategies.
• Participate in senior operational management decisions and support tactical initiatives.
• Manage accounting, legal, tax and treasury functions as required.
• Implement month‑end closing processes and develop efficient profit collection systems.
• Ensure strong controls to prevent fraud, errors and loss of assets.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3‑5 years of experience managing a finance function in a fast‑paced, complex environment, preferably in emerging markets.
• Proven experience leading a small finance team.
• Fluent in spoken and written French with solid knowledge of French accounting practices.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, formulas, pivot tables).
• Proficiency with Tally or Sage Accounting software, including data import capabilities.
• Strong fraud‑prevention and asset‑protection controls.
