Head Waiter / Waitress – La Terrasse

About the role

The Head Waiter/Waitress leads the waiting staff at La Terrasse, ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service for guests. This position reports to the GM/Head of Operations and is responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and monitor the performance of waitstaff, ensuring polite and efficient service.
• Set tables with appropriate china, silverware, glassware and linen, and assist staff during busy periods.
• Mentor new recruits, provide on‑the‑job training and develop staff skills.
• Handle guest inquiries, present menus, suggest courses and beverages, and address any complaints promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant, kitchen and dining areas, and oversee inventory control of food, equipment and smallware.
• Present bills, process payments and communicate special dietary requirements to the chefs.

Required profile

• High school certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of restaurant managerial experience as a Head Waiter or Chef de Rang.
• Excellent communication skills in English and French; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong managerial abilities and experience working in a multicultural environment.
