IT Technician – Level 1 (Entry‑Level)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic IT Technician (Level 1) to join our team and provide first‑line technical support across our head office and outlet network in Mauritius. This position is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with limited experience who want to develop hands‑on skills in hardware, networking and point‑of‑sale systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for desktops, laptops, printers, teller PCs, kiosks and POS terminals.
• Log, resolve and, when necessary, escalate IT support tickets.
• Travel to outlets to install, troubleshoot and maintain terminals, kiosks and network equipment.
• Assist with basic cabling and Wi‑Fi installations.
• Support equipment roll‑outs such as Windows 11 migrations and kiosk replacements.
• Help with basic network troubleshooting and monitoring under senior guidance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date IT asset records and documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in IT/Computer Science is a plus.
• No prior experience required for the trainee route; 6–12 months IT support experience preferred for direct entry.
• Strong interest in hardware, troubleshooting and learning new technologies.
• Good communication skills in English and French.
• Willingness to travel to outlets and work occasional outside‑hours.
• Valid driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi, VPN).
• Hardware troubleshooting skills for PCs, printers and POS/kiosk terminals.
