Junior Accountant

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support the finance team in preparing financial statements, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. This role offers exposure to a broad range of accounting functions within a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Record and process financial transactions accurately and timely.
• Perform regular account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit periodic financial and operational reports.
• Assist with tax return preparation and filing of statutory returns such as APS, VAT, and TDS.
• Monitor and reconcile debtor and creditor accounts, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and conduct solvency analyses.
• Respond to audit requests and liaise with banks on transactional matters.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACCA Level 2 and/or 3 or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Previous accounting or internship experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
