Placement Broker (Non-Motor General Insurance)

About the role

The Placement Broker provides knowledge, insight and placement recommendations for non‑motor general insurance broking activities, ensuring client expectations are consistently met. Working autonomously, the broker handles covers and accounts of varying size and complexity, supporting both new business and renewals.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain underwriting information, respond to technical queries and prepare quotes and summaries for clients.
• Review analytics to assess client risks and support market placement.
• Orchestrate new business placement, renewals and alterations of existing coverage.
• Perform needs and gap analysis to recommend program improvements.
• Bind carrier quotes, confirm coverage and file documents in internal MIS.
• Maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Adhere to compliance policies and conduct program peer reviews.

Required profile

• Degree in Management, Economics, Finance or related field, or professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CII).
• Knowledge of insurance underwriting practices and ability to propose appropriate coverage options.
• Experience in real estate, hospitality or leisure sectors is a plus.
• Strong presentation, relationship management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in English and French (written and verbal).

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Experience with underwriting software or management systems.
