About the role

The Kitchen Assistant will join Mo Burgers' fast‑paced kitchen team in Port Louis, supporting daily food preparation and ensuring smooth coordination with front‑of‑house staff. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on maintaining hygiene, organization, and timely service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and cooking tasks in a high‑volume environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across work surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
• Restock supplies, store ingredients properly, and keep the kitchen organized.
• Support opening and closing duties, including equipment checks and sanitation.
• Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff to ensure accurate and prompt order fulfillment.
• Follow safety and food‑handling procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Ability to perform basic food preparation and cooking tasks.
• Strong understanding of hygiene standards and safe food handling.
• Customer‑service mindset with focus on quality and teamwork.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to changing kitchen needs.
• Prior experience in a restaurant or food‑service environment is an advantage but not mandatory.
