L1 Security Analyst - Cybersecurity Operations Centre

About the role

EY Mauritius is looking for an enthusiastic L1 Security Analyst to join its cybersecurity team within the Technology Consulting business. The analyst monitors security events, performs initial triage and escalates incidents, acting as the first line of defence against cyber threats and protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of organisational systems and data.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from security analytics and next-generation AI-driven threat detection platforms and give data-driven responses.
• Investigate and triage security incidents, verify alerts for false positives and identify potential threats.
• Escalate incidents to L2/L3 analysts or other teams following incident response procedures.
• Document findings, maintain incident tickets and update case tracking systems.
• Support reporting of incidents, vulnerabilities and trends.
• Follow SOPs and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Help create and maintain security knowledge base articles and playbooks.
• Keep up with emerging threats, attack methods and security best practices, and carry out basic troubleshooting for threat detection.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or any STEM degree.
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field is an advantage.
• Ability to work in 24/7 shift environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advantageous: CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Microsoft SC-200, CEH or equivalent certification.
• Advantageous: basic understanding of networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM tools and malware threats.
• Advantageous: hands-on exposure to SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar or ArcSight.
