Operational Team Leader – Customs (Mauritius)

About the role

The Operational Team Leader will oversee a team of customs professionals in Mauritius, ensuring that customs declarations are processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with regulations. You will drive quality, compliance and digital transformation within the team while supporting a growing international operation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily customs declaration workflow to meet quality and deadline targets.
• Identify and resolve issues before they cause delays or compliance breaches.
• Coach and develop team members to improve performance and digital maturity.
• Promote a customer‑centric mindset, ensuring client needs are proactively addressed.
• Collaborate with technology teams to adopt and optimise the CustomsTech platform.
• Maintain and enforce compliance with all customs regulations and internal policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams in a customs, logistics or trade‑compliance environment.
• Strong understanding of customs regulations and declaration processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
• Customer‑focused attitude with strong communication skills.
