Trade Operations Specialist

About the role

Customs Support Group (CSG), a European market leader in customs services operating across 14 countries, is hiring a Trade Operations Specialist. You will support the daily delivery of customs and trade services across client projects, combining document review, data processing and operational coordination. You will also help improve processes using Excel and other digital tools, including AI and automation where appropriate. Training is provided on client requirements, procedures and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out assigned trade and customs activities in client systems, following established procedures
• Review and process operational documents and data, keeping records complete and accessible and escalating issues needing guidance
• Organise, analyse and reconcile operational data, investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate trackers
• Manage daily priorities across client projects, follow up on outstanding requests and coordinate with clients, colleagues and partners
• Support the setup of new operational projects and updates to existing procedures
• Identify ways to simplify recurring activities and use Excel, AI and automation tools to improve efficiency

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and reliability with documents and data
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage priorities across client activities
• Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to follow-up and problem-solving
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Advantage: previous experience or internship in operations or data processing, ideally in customs, trade or logistics; familiarity with SAP or similar systems; French or another additional language

Required skills

• Strong practical Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and comparing datasets
• Confidence with digital tools and learning new business systems
• Experience using AI tools to support daily work and assess their outputs
