Operational Technology (OT) Consultant

About the role

EY Mauritius is hiring an Operational Technology (OT) Consultant within its Technology Consulting practice. The role helps clients assess, design, modernise and secure OT environments, making physical operations smarter, safer and more connected. It sits at the intersection of engineering, technology and physical operations, covering industrial systems, OT architecture, cybersecurity, connected assets, infrastructure modernisation, systems integration and operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Support assessments of OT environments, systems, infrastructure and operational processes.
• Document current-state and future-state architectures, system landscapes, network diagrams and integration flows.
• Gather and analyse technical and operational requirements from engineering, technology and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to OT transformation, IT/OT integration, cybersecurity and technology improvement initiatives.
• Review industrial systems, connectivity, asset inventories and interfaces with enterprise, cloud and data platforms.
• Take part in workshops, technology evaluations, implementation activities and project delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation, architecture artefacts, assessment reports and client presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 1-5 years of relevant professional experience in technology, engineering, automation, infrastructure, cybersecurity, industrial systems, digital transformation or a related area.
• Experience contributing to technology, engineering, implementation, assessment or transformation projects.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and turn findings into clear recommendations, and to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• General understanding of OT, industrial systems, automation or connected physical environments; familiarity with SCADA, PLC, DCS, RTU, HMI or similar is beneficial.
• Networking, connectivity, cybersecurity and infrastructure fundamentals.
• System integration concepts such as APIs, databases, interfaces and middleware.
• Ability to document system architectures, network diagrams, process flows and integration landscapes.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.
• Advantageous: scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript or Node.js, exposure to Siemens, Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, ABB or Honeywell, and relevant certifications.
