Procurement Officer

About the role

One&Only Le Saint Géran, a luxury resort in Mauritius, is looking for a Procurement Officer. The role plans and organizes all general merchandise so that high-quality products are bought at the best possible price, orders are placed correctly and received on time.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with outlet managers about purchases in line with hotel needs and specifications
• Negotiate prices and ensure goods are delivered on time
• Prepare purchase orders and review shipments to check that received products are in good order
• Monitor grades and quality of products against hotel standards
• Analyze, distribute and file daily information flows, and maintain the purchasing office filing system
• Order the monthly market list and report price discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager
• Process local purchase orders and keep records with price quotations
• Liaise with the Receiving Department and follow up with suppliers on pending deliveries
• Make price comparison sheets from the market surveys run by the Assistant Manager, Cost Control
• Complete administrative functions as detailed by the Manager, Procurement

Required profile

• Some knowledge of food, beverage and printing products
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently for forms, inventories, bills, invoices and communication with suppliers
• Compliance with the hotel's policies and procedures

Required skills

• Basic mathematical and computer skills to track and receive deliveries
• Operation of office machines such as calculator, copier and fax
