Remote Language Specialist Annotator

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Language Specialist to join our remote team and help build high‑quality datasets for advanced AI and natural language processing systems. You will apply your linguistic expertise to annotate, review and validate text, speech and conversational data, ensuring cultural relevance and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Annotate and review text, speech, or conversational datasets, labeling parts of speech, sentiment, intent, and syntax according to project guidelines.
• Ensure cultural and contextual appropriateness of all annotated material.
• Develop, refine and maintain annotation guidelines.
• Conduct quality‑assurance checks and measure inter‑annotator agreement.
• Provide feedback to improve annotation workflows and standards.
• Support multilingual or domain‑specific annotation projects when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Languages or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language(s).
• Strong knowledge of grammar, syntax and overall language structure.
• Proven experience in linguistic annotation or data‑labeling projects.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts and AI data‑processing pipelines.
• Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
