Senior Audit & Assurance Services Specialist

About the role

Forvis Mazars in Mauritius is seeking a Senior professional to lead audit and assurance engagements across the group. The role focuses on reviewing consolidation processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and ISA standards, and providing technical guidance to junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Review and audit group consolidation, including inter‑company eliminations, foreign currency translation (IAS 21) and top‑side entries.
• Identify and assess key risks at entity and group level, especially those arising from complex structures and transfer pricing.
• Execute audit procedures on consolidation journals, goodwill, business combinations (IFRS 3) and investments in subsidiaries.
• Validate financial statements for compliance with IFRS 10, IFRS 3, IAS 21, IAS 28 and challenge management judgments.
• Coordinate with component auditors, communicate audit instructions and resolve cross‑jurisdictional reporting issues.
• Supervise junior staff, review their work and ensure high‑quality documentation.
• Maintain compliance with ISA 600 and firm quality standards, applying professional skepticism to consolidation adjustments.

Required profile

• University degree in Law, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of corporate secretarial or governance experience, preferably within a professional services firm.
• Basic knowledge of company law, corporate governance and regulatory frameworks.
