Account Receivable Officer

About the role

The Account Receivable Officer will join the finance team at Constance Le Chaland, a luxury hotel on the south‑eastern coast of Mauritius. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and robust credit control to support the hotel's revenue cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue invoices for rooms, F&B, events and other services, verifying supporting documents.
• Maintain up‑to‑date customer ledgers, monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue balances.
• Conduct regular reconciliations between sub‑ledger and general ledger and assist with month‑end closing.
• Follow up with clients via email and phone, negotiate payment plans and escalate problematic accounts.
• Assess customer credit limits, enforce credit policies and recommend adjustments.
• Support internal and external auditors and ensure proper documentation for audit compliance.
• Record transactions in ERP/Opera or other accounting systems and identify process improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in accounts receivable or finance, preferably in hospitality.
• Familiarity with hospitality accounting systems such as Opera, Sun or SAP.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with ERP or Opera accounting software.
• Knowledge of Sun or SAP financial systems.
