Accountant - Asset Manager Services (Real Estate, Closed-Ended)

About the role

Ocorian is hiring an Accountant for its Asset Manager Services practice, which serves private wealth, corporate and issuer clients. The role covers a diverse portfolio of semi-complex to complex clients across several jurisdictions, combining technical accounting work with client service and mentorship of junior accountants. It suits someone who wants to deepen expertise in financial reporting, management accounting and client service.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and review financial statements, management accounts and working papers in line with accounting standards and client requirements.
• Review accounting records, bookkeeping entries and reconciliations to ensure accurate, complete reporting.
• Oversee the preparation and review of VAT returns and other regulatory reporting.
• Partner with auditors and internal stakeholders to support audits and resolve accounting queries.
• Provide technical support across client engagements and contribute to ad hoc projects.
• Support a portfolio of clients across jurisdictions and meet agreed deadlines.
• Coach and guide Junior and Assistant Accountants through knowledge sharing and day-to-day technical support.
• Work with management to improve the efficiency and quality of service delivery.

Required profile

• ACCA or ACA qualified, or equivalent qualification through significant relevant accounting, audit or financial services experience.
• At least 3-4 years preparing client accounts, financial statements and management reporting in a professional services, private equity, real estate, corporate or financial services environment.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with good stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Desirable: experience with Navision, eFront or similar platforms and a passion for mentoring juniors.

Required skills

• Technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS; exposure to UK GAAP and other frameworks is advantageous.
