Accountant – Banking & Finance

About the role

Investec Bank (Mauritius) Ltd is seeking a dynamic Accountant to join its specialist banking and wealth management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial information in line with regulatory and reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Develop and monitor budgets, tracking performance against targets.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and Basel regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Bank of Mauritius.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably within banking or finance.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a flexible environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Experience with budgeting and performance tracking.
• Understanding of tax legislation and Basel regulations.
