Actuarial Assistant Manager / Manager (Insurance & Reinsurance)

About the role

Deloitte Mauritius is seeking a highly motivated actuarial professional to join its Actuarial Services team as an Assistant Manager or Manager. The role involves delivering high‑quality actuarial consulting to insurance and reinsurance clients, managing relationships, leading project teams and supporting business development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of actuarial consulting clients, ensuring timely delivery and quality of services.
• Lead client meetings, presentations and engagement discussions, and oversee billing and fee collection.
• Direct and review actuarial analyses for IFRS 17, IFRS 9, GAAP, valuation, reserving, pricing and risk‑management projects.
• Provide technical guidance to engagement teams and support audit engagements with actuarial expertise.
• Contribute to practice growth through client retention, cross‑selling and new business proposals.
• Mentor and coach junior actuaries, supervise performance and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Participate in thought‑leadership activities, industry presentations and publications to raise Deloitte’s actuarial profile.

Required profile

• Qualified or near‑qualified actuary.
• 3–5+ years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in insurance or reinsurance.
• Proven ability to manage client engagements and lead project teams.
• Strong communication and business‑development skills.
