Assistant Manager, Host

About the role

One&Only Le Saint Géran, a luxury resort on a private peninsula in Mauritius, is looking for an Assistant Manager, Host. The role manages the Host Department, sets the tone of service, trains the team and coordinates operations so that every guest's stay is seamless and memorable. It requires a smart, neat appearance, a critical eye for cleanliness and hygiene, and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Key responsibilities

• Train hosts on reservation and sales techniques, company policy and procedures, and compile a monthly training plan; monitor training records and keep the Memo and Training Board updated.
• Prepare and run pre-shift briefings, operational and departmental meetings, and supervise Host Supervisors, Team Leaders and Hosts, including performance reviews and coaching.
• Represent One&Only, uphold ethics and anti-bribery policies, and ensure compliance with brand standards, quality standards and SOPs.
• Keep guest-access areas clean and tidy, ensure housekeeping is delivered on time, and coordinate the service of occupied, departing and arriving rooms with supervisors and housekeepers.
• Use suggestive selling to promote rooms and other resort services, and manage guest folios and preferences across ALICE, SAGA and other systems.
• Coordinate guest arrivals and departures, check VIP rooms and suites before arrival, handle lost and found, and use ReviewPro to share feedback and follow up issues.
• Inspect guest rooms randomly with the Host, manage maintenance requests, and drive revenue generation.

Required profile

• Minimum of a high school diploma; a university degree is an added advantage.
• At least three years of guest services experience in an international ultra-luxury resort, such as Guest Relations Officer, Front Office Assistant or Concierge.
• Fluent written and spoken English and French.
