Category Executive – Retail & Hospitality

About the role

The Category Executive will optimise the performance of assigned product categories across hotels, restaurants and leisure activity centres. You will analyse consumer behaviour, market trends and competitor activity to drive sales, profitability and an engaging shopping experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies tailored to the retail landscape of hospitality venues.
• Analyse market trends, consumer preferences and competitor actions to optimise category performance.
• Identify seasonal product opportunities, manage introductions and plan exits for slow‑moving inventory.
• Define pricing structures that balance competitiveness, margin optimisation and perceived guest value.
• Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate terms, pricing and promotional agreements.
• Ensure supplier compliance with quality, delivery timelines and ethical sourcing standards.
• Curate an appealing product mix across categories such as clothing, accessories, beachwear, stationery, beverages, children’s items, cosmetics, wellness, food, souvenirs and others.
• Work with merchandising teams to guarantee effective product placement, planogram compliance and in‑store visibility.
• Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to implement displays, promotions and targeted campaigns.
• Utilise sales data to forecast demand, optimise stock levels and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Monitor category revenue, profit margins and budget; provide performance insights to senior management.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Management).
