Director, IT Ops

About the role

As Director of IT Operations you will ensure that nearly 400 DuckDuckGo team members have the internal tools and systems they need to work efficiently and securely. You will lead the IT Ops team in delivering reliable, trustworthy services and continuously improving internal tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Support internal tools and systems for all employees, covering macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android platforms.
• Lead projects that improve service delivery standards, such as streamlining onboarding, deploying Intune MDM, and building Azure AD‑authenticated VMs for testing.
• Set team roadmaps, adapt priorities quickly, and ensure consistent, excellent IT service across the organization.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to define team roadmaps and shift priorities as business needs evolve.
• Experience supporting cloud and SaaS applications (Office 365, SharePoint, Entra SSO/IDP) and managing user lifecycle.

Required skills

• Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) administration, preferably with Terraform or other IaC tools.
• Cloud and SaaS support experience, including Office 365, SharePoint, and Entra SSO.
• Remote troubleshooting on macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, Android, and Office 365.
• Familiarity with Linux sysadmin utilities and least‑privilege security practices.
• Use of AI tools for development and automation, including AI‑assisted development and AI agents.
