Entertainer (DJ)

About the role

RIU Mauritius, which hosts the island's largest hotel cluster on the Le Morne peninsula, is looking for an Entertainer (DJ) for its Entertainment department. The role involves leading engaging activities and delivering dynamic performances so that guests enjoy memorable, fun-filled stays.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, test and dismantle DJ equipment (controllers, mixers, speakers, microphones) before and after each set.
• Ensure sound levels comply with the hotel's noise pollution policies and local regulations.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of audio equipment and report technical faults to the maintenance team immediately.
• Keep the DJ booth and equipment clean, organised and secure.
• Maintain a high level of professional grooming and follow the hotel's dress code.
• Interact with guests in a polite and hospitable manner.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a DJ in a luxury hotel, cruise ship or high-end lounge is preferred.
• Vast knowledge of various genres (House, Nu-Disco, Pop, R&B, Afro-beats, etc.) and the ability to beat-match and mix seamlessly.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to connect with diverse audiences.
• Energetic, charismatic personality with a creative flair.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Technical proficiency with DJ software and hardware.
• Beat-matching and mixing.
