Maintenance Technician (Pest Control)

About the role

RIU Hotels & Resorts is hiring a Maintenance Technician (Pest Control) for its Le Morne property in Mauritius. The role contributes to the guest experience and operational excellence by keeping the hotel free of pests.

Key responsibilities

• Regularly inspect guest rooms, public areas, kitchens and gardens for signs of pests.
• Apply safe sprays, baits and traps to eliminate pests in line with safety regulations.
• Find and seal cracks, entry points and holes to prevent pests from entering.
• Keep accurate logs of chemicals used and ensure all products are stored locked and safely away from guests.
• Assess potential entry points and structural vulnerabilities and give preventative recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; technical vocational training is a plus.
• Valid local Pest Control Operator licence or specialised pesticide-handling certification is highly preferred.
• Able to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, crawl into tight spaces and work outdoors in varying weather.

Required skills

• Excellent observation skills.
• High level of discretion, especially around guests.
• Strong communication skills to report findings to management.
