Financial Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Mauritius. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own the full accounting function for multiple international entities and support strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse financial performance, calculate trading profitability, and produce management reporting packs for senior leadership.
• Prepare annual budgets, weekly cash‑flow forecasts, and monitor actuals against forecasts.
• Handle tax and statutory submissions (VAT, GST, BAS, Plastic Tax) and ensure compliance with IFRS for SMEs.
• Support external audits and coordinate audit requirements.
• Implement and monitor internal controls, approve payments, provisions, accruals and manage foreign‑currency revaluations.
• Lead and coach a Finance Officer, fostering a high‑performance team culture.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Financial Accountant role.
• Strong ERP experience, preferably NetSuite.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
