Global Payroll Operations Team Leader

About the role

The Global Payroll Operations Team Leader will join Apex Group’s Global Payroll team within Human Resources. You will oversee a multi‑country payroll and benefits function, ensuring accurate and timely compensation delivery for employees worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of payroll and benefit specialists responsible for highly accurate and compliant payroll processing across assigned countries.
• Administer employee personal, payroll, and benefit data throughout the employee lifecycle using vendor platforms.
• Execute procedural controls in line with the processing quality framework.
• Review and authorise payroll processing reports and benefit invoices, meeting agreed SLAs.
• Act as escalation point and subject‑matter expert for payroll and benefit enquiries.
• Partner with local finance teams to ensure correct recognition of payroll and benefit costs.
• Prepare materials for internal or external auditors and respond to audit queries.
• Contribute to initiatives such as annual pay reviews, audit requests, and new payroll set‑ups.
• Maintain and update payroll and benefit procedures to reflect legislative and policy changes.
• Set team goals and conduct regular performance reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in payroll and benefit delivery, including team leadership.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and cross‑border payroll processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong command of the MS Office Suite.
