Housekeeping (Floor) Supervisor

About the role

Constance Belle Mare Plage, a leading resort in Mauritius, is hiring a Housekeeping (Floor) Supervisor through its partner Hosco in Poste de Flacq. The supervisor oversees room cleaning and hygiene, supervises staff and ensures the department runs smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise room cleaning and hygiene, and supervise the cleaning and maintenance of equipment, reporting defects immediately
• Rotate employees between jobs when necessary and ensure they follow safety and fire regulations
• Keep adequate stock of guest amenities, chemicals and other items needed by the department
• Maximise employee productivity to minimise payroll costs and check staff punctuality
• Perform the duties of the Head Housekeeper in their absence and replace a Room attendant when requested
• Teach and train subordinates, implement skill-training programmes with the Training Manager and the Assistant Executive Housekeeper, and replace a Room attendant when asked
• Ensure clear communication between departments, proper procedures and high-quality service, and check delegated work and correct mistakes immediately
• Maintain good employee relationships, get involved with energy saving and act as a substitute for the Head Housekeeper

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the hotel industry; proven experience in a top luxury resort is a plus
• At least 1 year of professional experience on a similar position is a plus
• Experience in remote island locations is a plus
• General knowledge of guest room activities and ability to use cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Fluent English or another language, written and spoken; knowledge of a second language is a plus
