HR Governance and Regulatory Officer

About the role

The HR Governance and Regulatory Officer will oversee HR regulatory and governance activities, ensuring compliance with labour laws and internal policies. The role provides strategic advice to business units to minimise HR‑related risks and strengthen organisational governance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure HR policies, processes and practices comply with Mauritian labour laws and internal governance standards.
• Advise business units on compliance requirements and governance best practices.
• Monitor compliance gaps, recommend corrective actions and track implementation.
• Provide actionable guidance on compliance matters to senior management and assess HR‑related risks.
• Serve as the primary contact for compliance queries across the bank and liaise with internal audit, legal and regulators during inspections or investigations.
• Develop, implement and monitor HR policies and governance frameworks.
• Support audits, investigations and regulatory submissions with accurate documentation and evidence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in compliance, governance or labour relations, preferably within a regulated environment such as banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of labour laws, employment regulations, compliance requirements and governance standards.
