Internal Accountant

About the role

Trident Trust, a provider of corporate, trust and fund services to the financial services sector, is hiring an Internal Accountant. The role provides reliable accounting support to the Internal Accounting department by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and helping manage the organisation's financial activities. The reporting line is to the Internal Accounting Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Internal Accounting Team with internal accounting tasks such as bank data collection and reconciliation, processing suppliers' invoices and payments, and preparing client billings.
• Support bookkeeping of operational transactions and the preparation of monthly, quarterly and/or annual management accounts.
• Support the preparation and submission of statutory and tax reporting.
• Assist with the statutory audit process.
• Liaise with authorities and banks, including paying statutory fees and monitoring receipts.
• Undertake specific projects and other internal accounting tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Relevant professional qualification to perform the duties effectively.
• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in the same field is an advantage.
• Ability to work with internal and offshore team members, colleagues in other departments and heads, meeting tight deadlines.
• Initiative, commitment to quality service and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Bookkeeping, reconciliation, numeracy and variance analysis, with keen attention to detail.
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, is a must.
• Experience with Viewpoint or related systems is an advantage.
