Receptionist - Hotel Front Office

About the role

One&Only Le Saint Géran, a luxury resort on a private peninsula in Mauritius, is looking for a Receptionist. The role is the frontline of the Front Office, working under the general direction of the Front Office Manager and, within established hotel policies and procedures, overseeing all aspects of guest relations to achieve the highest possible guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests courteously on arrival, check them in and hand out keys, and escort guests to their rooms
• Keep an accurate room status, handle room moves and upgrades, and process check-outs, bills and payments
• Take pre-authorisation and deposits on guest credit cards and handle foreign exchange
• Deal with special requests such as taxis, theatre trips and storage of valuables and luggage
• Answer questions about hotel facilities and the surrounding area, and prepare birthday and guest lists
• Handle complaints, answer and forward all calls, and relay written and verbal messages
• Take booking requests after office hours and assist with customer service inquiries
• File customer bills, audit guest bills, record and update the guest preference database, and run end-of-day tasks
• Cut keys and assist the FOM with secretarial duties; take responsibility for your own cash floats

Required profile

• Fluent in English and French
• Extroverted personality with good communication skills and phone manners
• Good customer relations skills and ready to work after hours
• Awareness of confidentiality and health and safety issues
