Trade & Commodity Finance Operations Specialist

About the role

Join the Trade and Commodity Finance Operations Strategic Business Unit of MCB, a leading financial institution supporting international trade and economic activity. The role involves executing, structuring and improving trade finance solutions across a range of products such as letters of credit, standby LCs, guarantees, collections and financings.

Key responsibilities

• Execute trade finance transactions following escalation procedures while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
• Verify and validate documentation to guarantee authenticity and mitigate financial and reputational risk.
• Monitor and respond to queries from customers, business lines and banks within agreed timeframes.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance and other departments to address operational risks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support quality delivery and client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field (or equivalent diploma).
• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in trade finance operations.
• Strong knowledge of trade finance products, services and documentation.
• Analytical mindset with ability to handle complex information and solve problems.
• Proactive attitude towards innovation and digital solutions.

Required skills

• Understanding of trade finance instruments (letters of credit, standby LCs, guarantees, collections, financings).
• Ability to assess regulatory and compliance requirements.
